I got the newest version of Wine from git (.9.33) and applied the latest elfe patch. Configured okay, made the binaries and installed. Now for some reason I got NO cursor in EVE, however the performance is phenomenal. Anyone else having this problem?

I reverted to the normal wine and everything appears to be working again. I must say the graphics look better than ever and the performance is good. I would say 50-60% of the windows performance.
It does seem that after awhile the performance degrades. I start out with 39-40fps in station and 20fps in space and after 20 minutes or so it starts to drop by 10.
When I applied Elfe's patch the other night EVE ran stable and the performance didn't degrade, plus the windowed mode looked great. Glad to see these kind of improvements with Wine. If there are no regressions as Elfe said EVE could be gold status in a few weeks. |

No real issues with .9.34. Stay AWAY from .9.35 though....memory problems. X crashing...possible something else has changed? update/ upgrade or something? Its ALSO possible something fubar'd with video drivers? I had a problem with 9755 nvidia drivers last week where X would crash on ANY graphical application start.....reinstalled them, and problems went away...discovered it was a crash with Beryl that had caused the problem. Just tossin' ideas out.
Hey, i had the exact same problem with the 9755 drivers going corrupt. I was playing Half Life 2 and the game crashed. After that couldn't open any gl applications until I reinstalled. Sounds like an Nvidia problem. Also experienced same problems with .9.35. Horrible leaks. Didn't have enough thumbs to plug em. |
